There is no doubt that the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to be transformative, affecting all aspects of how humans live and work. AI will not only transform healthcare by allowing hospitals and patient care providers to diagnose disease faster and with more personal attention but it will also create new education delivery platforms that allow children with different learning skills to learn from tailored pathways to study the same concept. AI will improve public transport to people through automated transport vehicles and optimise road traffic through intelligent autonomous transport systems. AI will also improve the way we use leisure time by allowing entertainment that is delivered in a more, customised and immersive manner. Machine learning, robotics and natural language processing will continue to evolve, making AI systems smarter, more autonomous, and more human-like. However, with these rapid advancements come ethical dilemmas with problems such as data privacy, bias, and who to hold accountable when AI systems cause harm. As AI developers and employers of such systems become more responsible in their adoption/deployment processes and regulatory authorities become engaged, AI can achieve optimal outputs for global good. Ultimately, AI will not only have the capacity to increase productivity and economic growth, AI can enhance human capability and understanding.
