Getting a nursing-related job in Singapore without an SNB license was a challenge, but I made it work by starting as a Healthcare Assistant. I applied to hospitals and nursing homes that accepted foreign-trained nurses or locals still waiting for SNB approval. My previous nursing experience helped, even though I couldn’t practice as a registered nurse. The job involved assisting with daily patient care—feeding, bathing, checking vital signs—and I earned around S$2,000 to S$2,400 per month. I focused on learning local medical protocols and building good relationships with staff. Eventually, my employer supported my efforts to register with the SNB. It took time, but working without the license gave me real experience and opened the door to full nursing roles later.
