Hi everyone! I have an interesting question to discuss: do any of you use Shifton for automatic shift scheduling? We recently started testing this system at our company, and I'm not sure yet whether I should rely on it completely. I'm interested in how it works in real conditions - is it easy to integrate it with existing systems? And in general, is it possible to set it up so that it automatically schedules shifts taking into account all the nuances, or is it just a convenient tool for manual input? How useful do you think it is in the long term?

I just recently started working with https://shifton.com/shift-scheduling, and I can share my experience. In fact, this system is quite convenient for automatic shift planning, but it is important to understand that it is not ideal and, of course, requires some customization for the specific needs of the company. We integrated it with our CRM system and internal data, but here's what's important - automatic planning can only work well if all the parameters are configured in advance: the number of employees, work schedules, preferences, and even time and workload restrictions. At the start of working with automatic employee schedule generator, you need to tinker with the settings a little. For example, you can specify which employees can work on certain shifts, and the program will automatically select the best options, taking into account their availability, as well as the number of working hours per day or week. This makes life much easier for the HR department, since many processes no longer require manual intervention. But taking into account non-standard situations, such as employee illness or urgent replacements, the system does not always cope perfectly, because automatic selection is still subject to human error or underestimation of certain factors.

Yes, Shifton is a really interesting system, and I've worked with it a little bit too. Although we use it more for planning in small teams than in large companies. The main thing is that it helps organize processes well and reduce the number of errors when creating shifts. It is especially useful that you can set templates and tasks in advance, which the system then uses for automatic distribution. But, as was said above, if you do not take into account some factors manually, then automation does not always work perfectly. Therefore, in my opinion, the best option is a combined approach, where Shifton helps create the main schedule, and human intervention is still necessary to take into account all the little things.
