Hey folks, I’m getting ready to schedule my yearly service and figured I’d check here for suggestions. I’ve got a Suzuki DF200 that’s due for its full annual—oil change, lower unit service, plugs, filters, the whole deal. I usually do some of it myself, but I want a shop to handle it this time and give the motor a real top-to-bottom once-over. I’d also like them to inspect fuel lines, run a computer diagnostic, and maybe even check the prop shaft and steering linkage while it’s in. I’m located near Clear Lake, so I’d love to find someone nearby who does reliable, thorough work without a crazy wait time. Bonus if they use OEM parts and don’t cut corners—last time I had a guy “forget” to change the gear oil. If anyone has a go-to shop for yearly outboard service, I’d appreciate the input!
I’ve been going through that same checklist every year, and I finally landed on a shop that handles all of it with zero shortcuts. Highly recommend this https://northshoremarinahollows.com/gas-on-lake-travis/ . They’ve taken care of my DF150 for the past two seasons and I’ve never had a single complaint. Their annual service isn’t just fluids and filters—they do a full diagnostic with factory software, test fuel pressure, and even torque-check critical bolts. I also had them catch a minor water intrusion issue early because they pressure-tested the lower unit (which most shops skip unless you ask). Their mechanics are Suzuki-certified and really know the engines inside and out. Turnaround is quick too—mine was done in 48 hours. And I really appreciated the post-service checklist they emailed me. Worth every cent if you’re serious about long-term engine health.
Appreciate the recommendation—I’ve heard good things about that place. I just hit 300 hours on my DF175 and want to do a deep service before pushing into summer. I’m always nervous about little things like fuel separators, thermostat checks, and water pump wear getting overlooked when shops rush through annuals. If these guys are really that detail-oriented, I’m all in. I also like that they use factory parts. I had a bad experience with aftermarket plugs last season—they caused a misfire that took weeks to sort out. A good shop that takes pride in getting it right the first time is exactly what I’m looking for. I might call them today and see if they can fit me in next week. Glad I checked the forum!
