In ARC Raiders, upgrading your Gunsmith Workbench's Level 3 will bring you a hard truth: you don't have any Rusted Gears. Rusted Gear, unlike other materials which are found everywhere, only spawns in Industrial Areas at an extremely low rate. Knowing where to find the best maps and how to maximize your odds can turn this grind from a nightmare to a manageable task.
Why arc raiders shop Rusted Gear Farming Is Impossible
Rusted Gears share spawn pools and spawn pools of the Rusted Tools which are much more common, creating a lotto system that favors disappointment. Industrial containers on maps of lower difficulty, such as Dam Battlegrounds will often give you tools and not gears. In essence, you are rolling the dice and have terrible odds.
This is the key insight that many players overlook: playing on maps of higher difficulty will dramatically increase your odds. The chances of finding Rusted Tools are still high on Blue Gate, but they're much higher on Spaceport and Blue Gate.
